Day 1 - Friday- Arrive in our Nation’s Capital and explore Union Station and see the Annual Christmas Train Display.
- Depart with your DC Guide for a Tour of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
- Tour the United States Botanic Gardens and see the beautiful Annual Christmas Poinsettia Display.
- Visit the Pathway of Peace, living evergreen trees representing the U.S. States, the five U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia. which surround the National Christmas Tree located in the northeast quadrant of the Ellipse near the White House in Washington, DC. This tradition has taken place every year since 1923.
- Enjoy a Welcome Dinner at a local favorite restaurant.
- Check-in to your DC Metro “home” for the next two nights.
- Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning.
- Depart for a full day of touring with your Guide to include our favorite Washington, DC, Christmas classics:
- Visit Mount Vernon. Mount Vernon has some of the most unique and wonderful holiday shopping of the season to be found in the DC area. Find Colonial style and American Holiday traditions for your home, friends, and family. See the beautifully decorated Mansion and grounds, tour the Mansion and discover what the Washingtons, enslaved people, and hired workers, ate during this season. Learn how food was grown, preserved, prepared, and served, during the holiday season, and watch 18th-century demonstrations and hear stories of Christmases past from costumed characters.
- Tour the free-time, lunch on own, and shopping in the unique boutiques in one-of-a-kind, Historic Old Town Alexandria, it's cobblestone streets decorated for Christmas.
- Drive by the National Cathedral, taller than the Washington Monument, it's the sixth tallest church in the world.
- Explore Hillwood Estate, the mansion, and estate of cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post, and experience their Annual Russian Christmastime extravagance!
- Enjoy dinner included this evening at a popular downtown hot spot.
- Experience an Illuminated Monument Tour including a walk-through at the John F. Kennedy Performing Arts Center and see the new REACH Exhibit along with amazing views from the upstairs terrace, overlooking the city lit up at night and with extra colors for the season!
- Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning before checking out.
- Explore the massive, high-tech Museum of the Bible. Opened in November 2017, this amazing new state-of-the-art, 420,000 square foot facility is one of the World’s largest private collections of biblical objects and artifacts.
