Sample Itinerary:
Day 1: Winston-Salem, NC
- Your Southern adventure begins in Winston-Salem with a warm welcome at the Visitor Center, complete with fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts and coffee. Enjoy a complimentary Step-On Tour through Old Salem, where you’ll have time to explore the fascinating Old Salem Museums & Gardens and enjoy lunch on your own. In the afternoon, visit the historic Reynolda House Museum of American Art, once the estate of the famed tobacco family. After checking into your hotel and enjoying a little downtime, we’ll gather for dinner at a local restaurant before settling in for a relaxing evening.
- After departing the hotel, your morning begins sweetly with a stop at Mrs. Haynes’ Hand-Made Moravian Cookies—a beloved North Carolina staple. Then explore the wonderfully quirky Körner’s Folly, “the strangest house in the world,” followed by lunch onsite. By late afternoon you’ll arrive in Beaufort along the Crystal Coast, where you’ll enjoy dinner and shopping on your own among charming waterfront streets and boutique shops.
- Start your day with breakfast before embarking on a scenic cruise to Cape Lookout to tour the lighthouse and spot playful dolphins, complete with a boxed lunch from Beaufort Grocery. Back on land, enjoy a Double Decker Tours excursion to the historic Ancient Burial Ground, then continue on to the storied Fort Macon, built in 1812. After some time to freshen up at the hotel, enjoy dinner at the iconic Sanitary Restaurant in Morehead City before returning for a restful night.
- Begin your morning at the Waterfowl Museum before enjoying a treat from a local bakery as you travel south. Arrive at Broadway at the Beach, a lively 350-acre entertainment and shopping complex at the heart of Myrtle Beach, where you’ll explore specialty shops and enjoy lunch on your own. After checking in to your hotel, enjoy a plentiful local seafood buffet, then cap off the evening with a performance at one of Myrtle Beach’s famous theaters before returning to your hotel.
- After breakfast, journey to the beautiful Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, where you’ll board a Salt Marsh Eco Cruise to a private island for shelling. Enjoy a boxed lunch at the acclaimed Brookgreen Gardens, home to stunning botanical displays and outdoor art. Continue to Florence to check into your hotel before savoring a delicious dinner at Victor’s, conveniently located inside the property. The evening is yours to unwind.
- This morning, discover treasures at Palmetto Peddlers Antique Mall, followed by a stop at Young’s Pecan and a visit to Bucky’s before departing for Beaufort. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and prepare for a memorable evening at the historic Penn Center, where you’ll enjoy an authentic Gullah dinner and captivating Gullah storytelling. Return to the hotel after this cultural highlight of the tour.
- Your final morning begins with breakfast at the scenic Port Royal Sound Marina, complete with snacks—and likely a glimpse of local alligators! Then enjoy a musical and interactive tour at the Kazoo Factory before heading downtown for lunch and boutique shopping on your own. Before departing, stop at Marshview for a hands-on lesson in making traditional Gullah sweetgrass baskets—your own handmade keepsake of the Lowcountry. Then it’s off to the Savannah Airport for flights home, filled with new memories from your Fall for the South journey.
