A National Parade To Thank Our Veterans
Arrive in our Nation’s Capital to pay your respects at national memorials as we visit the WWII, Vietnam Veterans, Lincoln, and Korean War Memorials. Afterwards, tour the Capitol Visitors Center, the Library of Congress, and the Supreme Court. You’ll be pampered in luxury after checking in to the Gaylord Resort at National Harbor where you will also receive a complimentary cocktail, two bottles of water daily, free in-room Wi-Fi, and shuttle services to MGM and Tanger Outlets. Enjoy dinner this evening on your own at one of the many restaurants available inside the Gaylord or at National Harbor.
Feast on a full, hot, American breakfast at the hotel this morning prior to visiting the Marine Corps Museum. The museum is a cooperative effort between the United States Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation where the story of the past, present & future of the Marine Corps is told in a state-of-the-art facility. Enjoy lunch on own while visiting. This afternoon, join the American Veteran’s Center, the United States Airforce, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as they present the annual National Memorial Day Choral Festival. The festival features choirs from across the United States, the United States Air Force Orchestra, and the Air Force Band. Washington, DC’s annual Memorial Day Choral Festival honors those veterans past and present who have sacrificed so much for the liberties we currently enjoy in our country, as well as around the world. Remember our heroes in song at this commemoration in the concert hall of the Kennedy Center.
After the choral performance enjoy a cocktail and incredible view of the Nation’s Capital from the Observation Deck at CEB Tower. There’s only one place where you can take in the full grandeur of the D.C. metropolis, where you can get a 360° panoramic view of the city’s most majestic monuments, famous landmarks and natural beauty: The Observation Deck at CEB Tower. Wander through the sleek 12,000-square-foot space, gaze out of floor-to-ceiling windows and get a new perspective on the nation’s capital—from the old-world charm of Georgetown to the soaring Washington Monument to the emerald green banks of the Potomac. Go even higher and venture out onto the open-air terrace for a closer view of the Pentagon and Arlington Cemetery. Day 3 - Monday , May 27, 2019 - MEMORIAL DAY!
Enjoy a full, hot, American breakfast at the hotel this morning prior to departing for the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of American History; a vast, venerable museum chronicling American history through a multitude of impressive displays.
This afternoon, enjoy a VIP lunch hosted by the American Veterans Center before the National Memorial Day Parade, a MARS Exclusive event! Enjoy the parade from private, VIP seats in the shade, offered exclusively by MARS.
Afterwards, visit Arlington National Cemetery to lay a rose on a fallen soldier’s grave. Roses will be provided by donations to the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation, dedicated to making floral tributes to those who bravely served our country. This evening, enjoy dinner on own at the National Harbor and an included ride on the Capital Wheel. At 180 feet tall the climate controlled gondolas of the Capital Wheel give you a birds eye view of the Washington Monument, National Cathedral, Alexandria and Prince George’s County.(B, L, D)
