Sample Itinerary:
Day 1 - Amish Candle-Making Experience, Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center, & Amish Country Theatre
  • Arrive in Ohio.
  • Enjoy lunch at an Amish home! This will be a traditional Amish “Haystack Meal.” A Step-on guide will join the group and provide a cultural and historical narrative of the Amish and the Mennonites.
  • Experience a hands-on Amish candle-making experience and take home a candle.
  • Take a tour of the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center. The tour of Behalt illustrates the history of the Amish and Mennonites from their origins to the present day.
  • Enjoy an included dinner.
  • Take your seats for a show at the Amish Country Theater. Hold on to your seats and get ready for some explosive laughter! The shows are designed to be fun for the whole family, from the littlest young’uns to the orneriest grand pappy! You’ll meet nationally acclaimed Ventriloquist Ken Groves who has been featured on 14 national television appearances. You’ll laugh with comedian Lynyrd, a spotlight stealin’ country bumpkin, who’s as unpredictable as an Ohio spring. And don’t forget the famous Amish comedy trio “The Beachy’s” and Fannie Mae, whose parody songs and jokes about farm living will keep you laughing the whole way home.
  • Check-in to your hotel.
Day 2 - Sugar Creek, Walnut Creek Amish Flea Market, Dutch Valley Sugarcreek, Ohio Theatre
  • Enjoy breakfast at your hotel.
  • Arrive in Sugarcreek. Swiss cheese, a railroad, hardworking people, a painter, brick factories, and coal mines have a part in Sugarcreek's history. In 1882, a railroad built in the Sugar Creek valley brought new opportunities. The depot was about a mile east of Shanesville, and a cluster of buildings soon sprang up around it. By 1888, the growing settlement wanted its own post office and a new name. Previously known as "the town east of Shanesville," the area became "Sugar Creek," named after a nearby stream. Eventually the two villages grew together, but it wasn't until 1969 that they officially merged under the name of Sugarcreek. Don’t miss the World’s Largest Cuckoo clock in the downtown area!
  • Shop at the Walnut Creek Amish Flea Market, an indoor shopping center featuring a variety of vendors.
  • Spend more time shopping at Dutch Valley Sugarcreek. Experience the flavorful foods, simple comforts and rural charm of our midwestern Amish and Mennonite Communities. Shop, eat and relax. You’ll find made-from-scratch meals, handcrafted gifts and plenty of honest-to-goodness fun.
  • Take your seats for a show at Ohio State Theatre.
  • Return to your hotel.
Day 3 - Back Roads Brown Bag Tour
  • Enjoy breakfast at your hotel prior to checking out.
  • Meet your guide and depart for a Back Roads Brown Bag Tour. The guide will lead your group to destinations planned specifically for you. An Amish Church Lunch is included as well as lots of goodies and shopping.
  • After your tour, depart for home.
