Day 1 - Smithsonian Folklife Festival and Military Performance
  • Enjoy free time at The Smithsonian Folklife Festival which celebrates the power of culture, creativity, and community on the National Mall by collaborating with cultural practitioners, communities, and heritage professionals to spark curiosity, catalyze intercultural exchange, and create participatory experiences that nurture human connection through exhibits, demonstrations, live music, dancing, and the Festival Marketplace.
  • Be sure to visit one of the Smithsonian Museums on the National Mall while exploring.
  • Check-in to your local hotel accommodation.
  • Dinner is on own this evening prior to enjoying the music and festivities of the Marine Corps Sunset Parade -OR- or enjoy a concert with the Air Force Band at the Air Force Memorial. (Meals: None)
 
Day 2 - Monuments & Memorials
  • Enjoy breakfast included at the hotel this morning.
  • Depart City Guide for a Monuments and Memorials Tour. See the NEW Eisenhower Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, as well as the Lincoln, Korean War, and WWII Memorials.
  • Stop by the White House for a photo opportunity before continuing your journey and visiting the Jefferson Memorial, the FDR Memorial, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.
  • Enjoy lunch on own at the Pentagon City Mall Food Court.
  • Stop to pay respects at Arlington National Cemetery, America’s shrine to valor and sacrifice.
  • Dinner on own this evening. (Meals: B)
 
Day 3 - Independence Day!
  • Enjoy breakfast included at the hotel this morning.
  • Meet your City Guide and enjoy a live musical performance on the steps of the National Archives.
  • Immediately following will be a Live Declaration of Independence Reading Ceremony which will also include: Greetings by the Master of Ceremonies, the Presentation of Colors by the Continental Color Guard, as well as performances of the National Anthem & the Fife and Drum Corps provided by the United States 3rd Infantry, the Old Guard.
  • Box lunches will be delivered.
  • Enjoy the National Independence Day Parade!
  • Return to the hotel to refresh.
  • CELEBRATE! 4th of July Fireworks Dinner & Dance Cruise! (Meals: B, L, D)
 
Day 4 - National Harbor Free Time
  • Sleep in this morning prior to breakfast included.
  • Explore the Museum of the Army, the first comprehensive and truly national museum to capture, display, and interpret over 240 years of Army history through the eyes of the Soldiers, -OR- visit the Marine Corps Museum, where world-class interactive exhibits using the most innovative technology surround visitors with irreplaceable artifacts and immerse them in the sights and sounds of Marines in action.
