Sample Itinerary:
DAY One 
  • Arrive in  San Francisco, California with free time to explore at Fisherman's Wharf.  Located on the northern waterfront, Fisherman's Wharf is one of the city's busiest tourist areas.  Souvenir shops and stalls selling crab and clam chowder in sourdough bread bowls appear at every turn, as do postcard views of the bay, Golden Gate and Alcatraz. There’s also a colony of sea lions to see and historic ships to tour. At Ghirardelli Square, boutiques and eateries reside in the famed former chocolate factory.
  • Check-in to your local MARS-Partner Hotel Property to rest and freshen up for the evening.
  • Sail away on a Sunset Bay Cruise. This 90-minute cruise starting at dusk which will take you from PIER 39 and past two San Francisco icons, the famous California Sea Lions and the Golden Gate Bridge. As the sun sets on the San Francisco Bay and the lights come up in the city, you'll continue to take in the many sights while you go by Angel Island, Sausalito, Tiburon, and the world-famous Alcatraz Island. There is no better seat on the Bay to see one of the most beautiful cities in the world turn on its lights.  Truly, a breathtaking experience!
  • Enjoy a Welcome Dinner included at a local favorite restaurant to complete your day one festivities!
  • Depart and relax at your hotel for the evening.
 
DAY Two
  • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning.
  • Arrive in Downtown Napa. Enjoy free time this morning shopping and/or tasting in one of Napa’s tasting rooms. Napa County is north of San Francisco, in California. It's known for hundreds of hillside vineyards in the Napa Valley wine region. In the city of Napa, Oxbow Public Market features regional gourmet food. The Napa Valley Wine Train is a vintage locomotive and traveling restaurant running through the valley. Northwest of Napa is Yountville, a town known for high-end restaurants and sparkling wine.
  • Embark on an adventure today with visits to multiple Napa Wineries (final schedule: TBD) along with an included lunch. Enjoy intimate wine tastings, expansive outdoor spaces, and behind-the-scenes tours. Plus, 95% of Napa's wineries are family-owned and operated, which means nearly every spot will feel like home. There are more than 400 wineries open for tastings and 90 urban tasting rooms in Napa Valley with its own distinctive microclimates, and often, different signature grapes at each one.
  • Stop for a Group Photo Opportunity at the famous Napa Valley Sign.
  • Check-in to your MARS-Partner Hotel Property in Santa Rosa, CA.
  • This evening, enjoy an included dinner at a local favorite restaurant before returning to your accommodation for the evening.
 
DAY Three
  • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning prior to checking out.
  • Step back in time on a magical ride through the redwoods on the world-famous Skunk Train!  Since 1885, the historic Skunk has made its way through old-growth redwood groves, over scenic trestle bridges, through spectacular tunnels, and into the heart of the Noyo River canyon. Today’s riders enjoy the same pristine views that have remained largely unchanged for well over a century.
    • Guests will enjoy a sack lunch at the Wolf Creek turn where the train will stop, and guests will enjoy 30 minutes while they watch the train engine unhitch from the train and maneuver the engine for the return trip back to the depot.
  • Arrive at the Redwood Skywalk and experience this fully accessible marvel and walk among the trees. Voted #1 Aerial Adventure Park in the nation by USA Today Readers! See the Forest from the Trees! The Redwood Sky Walk is a self-guided interpretive experience designed to educate, inspire, and delight visitors. Learn about the rich hidden ecology of the world’s tallest trees from an entirely new perspective. Perched 100 feet above the lush and verdant forest floor, view the canopy and legendary old-growth and mature second-growth redwood trees closer than ever before. As the longest sky walk in the western United States, the Redwood Sky Walk is just under 1/4 mile to the end and back. Imagine the amazing photos you’ll take from above!

DAY Four

  • Your journey begins today with a local Step-On Guide and a trip on a Humboldt Cannabis Tour.  Today, you'll explore and tour:
    • Five Sisters Farm. Their licensed cannabis farm tours allow visitors to interact with sustainable cannabis producers and appreciate all the area has to offer. Humboldt County contains over forty percent of all remaining old growth Coast Redwood forests, and its cities boast numerous examples of Victorian architecture. Humboldt Cannabis Tours calls the Emerald Triangle home, and they want to share it with you.
    • Catered Luncheon at Benbow Inn on the patio.  The “Hotel Benbow” opened to the public in July of 1926 and soon became a popular destination resort for motoring tourists traveling up the newly completed Redwood Highway. Set above the banks of the Eel River, their beautiful location and distinctive design has earned the resort the reputation as a National Treasure and Northern California getaway — intriguing travelers for nine decades. Benbow Historic Inn is on the National Register of Historic Places and a proud member of Historic Hotels of America.
    • High Water Farms where you'll embark on a tour with farmer Crystal Ortiz. The dispensary in Arcata, California, is an experiential marketplace with a focus on terroir — the environmental factors that give crops like wine grapes and cannabis their distinct flavors and aromas.  Chrystal Ortiz, a second-generation farmer and founder of the dispensary, said her passion for small, sun- grown farming practices sparked her interest to create a company that highlights brands with similar values.  Ortiz is motivated to tell farmers’ stories in a retail setting. “I felt like telling the story right here, […] in our small town in the county where all this cannabis is grown,” she added. “If it works here, we know it will work everywhere else.”
    • Papa & Barkley Social, a cannabis dispensary, lounge, and spa. Opened this past September 16, 2023, Social Spas offers unique and individualized body treatments, massage facials, and tub soaks. Their treatments are personalized for each guest to alleviate aches and pains, reduce stress, or increase energy.  At 4:20pm, guests will have the opportunity to buy and try their cultivated cannabis.
  • Return to the hotel to drop your guide and rest and freshen up for dinner.
  • A delightful and relaxing dinner included this evening at a favorite restaurant of local residents.
DAY Five
  • Enjoy breakfast included at your hotel this morning prior to checking out.
  • Depart with your local Step-On Guide for a Redwood Forest Adventure Day, a narrated 5 1/2-hour tour of the most spectacular stands of virgin redwood trees, either north of Eureka at Redwood National & State Parks, or south of Eureka at Humboldt Redwoods State Park. 120 miles round trip and includes a picnic lunch of delicious local products and many additional points of interest.
  • Mid-afternoon, your guide drops and you'll depart for Santa Rosa, CA.
  • Upon arrival, enjoy dinner included at a nearby hotspot.
  • Check-in to your MARS-Partner Hotel Property and relax for the remainder of the evening.
DAY Six
  • Enjoy breakfast included at the hotel this morning prior to checking out and departing for San Francisco.
  • Arrive at Fisherman’s Wharf and enjoy Free time and Lunch on own at Pier 39. Fisherman’s Wharf, on the northern waterfront, is one of the city’s busiest tourist areas.   • Return to Pier 33 on your Ferry Boat for free afternoon and evening of exploring.  You will have a One Day Hop-on / Hop-off Pass to use to explore any aspect of the San Francisco highlights offered.  The remainder of your San Francisco adventure will be left for you to write your own adventure!
    • Lunch and dinner will be on your own today while exploring.
 
DAY Eight
  • Enjoy breakfast included at the hotel this morning prior to checking out.
