Day One:
  • Arrive in Beaufort, SC, your home for the next 4 nights, and check in to your local hotel.
  • We’ll start in Beaufort, a city on Port Royal Island and one of Carolina’s Coastal Sea Islands known for its southern charm, friendly town folk, Antebellum mansions, and delicious, local, fresh foods, all from a beautiful waterfront setting. Come stay for a while in this comfortable small southern town with a very walkable downtown and friendly locals.
  • After checking in to our hotel, enjoy your first Southern Porches Evening. Start with appetizers and drinks on the Porch of a historic Antebellum Mansion, then depart for a delicious dinner at a local favorite restaurant.
Day Two:
  • After a hearty breakfast, enjoy a tour exploring the Islands on your open-air trolley, learning about the local history, and enjoying the beach as the beach should be enjoyed! Smell the earthy marsh and salty tidal air, soak in the sunlight, relax with the fresh air breeze.
  • Embark on A Gullah Culture tour with visits to a Praise House, Pat Conroy’s Grave Site, a Slave Cemetery, and The Penn Center, site of the first academic school for freed slaves, which today is one of the most significant African-American historical and cultural institutions and is committed to the preservation of the Gullah Geechee culture.
  • Afterwards, we’ll relax and take in the sunset back in Beaufort with dinner on own along Beaufort's Riverfront.
Day Three:
  • After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll depart for Savannah to take part in a narrated city tour and discover extraordinary architecture, lush botanical gardens, and captivating stories of this historic coastal town including Savannah’s Historic District, and the breathtaking 1/2 mile long canopy of live oaks and Spanish moss leading to Wormsloe Plantation.
  • Enjoy touring today on Open Air Trolley's!
  • Visit a 100-year old Gullah Geechee Community along the banks of the famous Moon River. Here, we’ll enjoy a BBQ Lunch served by the regional cook off BBQ Master!
  • This evening, enjoy dinner on own along Savannah's bustling River Walk with many restaurants to choose from & lovely boutique shops to visit.
Day Four:
  • Enjoy breakfast this morning at the hotel before departing for a visit to the Ace Basin and experience a Dolphin Eco-Cruise.
  • Lunch will be own in downtown Beaufort.
  • After lunch, enjoy shopping in downtown Beaufort where there are no franchise stores! Each visit is unique.
  • Afterwards, we’ll take a Horse-drawn Carriage Ride and learn about Beaufort’s history, see Hollywood movie sets, gorgeous gardens, ancient churches, and many Civil War era Antebellum homes.
  • Dinner will be on own along Beaufort’s “Front Porch”.
Day Five:
  • Enjoy breakfast this morning at the hotel before checking out and departing for the Kazoo Factory Museum.
  • Tour the Kazoo Factory Museum containing historical kazoos and you'll learn all about how the kazoo was invented and how it has come to be America's most beloved musical instrument.
  • Visit an Oyster Farm to learn about this fascinating aquaculture. Shuck and taste fresh oysters!
  • Depart for home, refreshed, relaxed, and our spirit renewed by our time in Savannah and Beaufort.
