Day 1 - Grand Ballroom Dinner and Patsy Cline Tribute Singer
  • Arrive to your hotel. An included dinner is served in the Grand Ballroom of the hotel.
  • A Patsy Cline tribute singer will entertain you during dinner tonight. (Meals: D)
 
Day 2 - Patsy Cline Hometown & Historic House and The Greenbriar
  • Prior to checking out enjoy breakfast Included at the hotel.
  • Meet GUIDE in lobby and depart for a tour of Patsy Cline’s Hometown - She began her radio career at Winchester Radio Station WINC in 1946 at age 14.  We’ll see her home, Radio Station WINC, and pay a visit to her gravesite. Many seniors in the area still recall when Patsy played at area clubs in her early career.
  • Tour the The Patsy Cline Historic House.  Keeping true with one of Patsy Cline’s signature songs, “Come on in and sit right down and make yourself at home”, we’ll visit The Patsy Cline Historic House, a historic property on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register. Patsy resided here from 1948-53, longer than at any other house associated with her in the Winchester and Nashville areas, and she returned to it intermittently until her singing career began in 1957. The house serves as a proud testament to Patsy's love of family. Her devoted and influential relationship with her mother and their drive and determination launched Patsy's career. The house, furnished with some personal items, appears as when Patsy and her family lived there.

Day 3 - Historic Bunker Tour and Depart for Elkins
  • Prior to checking out, enjoy breakfast Included at the hotel.
  • Enjoy the Historic Bunker Tour. The declassified Bunker at The Greenbrier is a must-see experience that takes you behind the scenes and walks you through a fascinating period in the resort's history. Carved deep into the mountainside beneath our West Virginia Wing is an emergency Cold War fallout shelter. Once a top secret U.S. government relocation facility for Congress, The Bunker is now open to anyone interested in reliving a legendary piece of The Greenbrier history. Bunker Tours provide a unique and in-depth look behind the hidden doors.
  • Enjoy lunch on own at any of the 6 full time restaurants and cafes at the resort prior to Departure.
  • Depart for Elkins, WV, and check-in to your hotel. Enjoy dinner included this evening at an elegant home built in the 1890’s, at the height of the timber era. (Meals: B, D)
Day 4 - Cheat Mountain, High Falls, Durbin Rocket, & Smoke on the Water
  • This morning you board the Cheat Mountain Salamander’s Climate Controlled Passenger Cars for a 2 1/2 hour ride through the wild, high-mountain wilderness of West Virginia.
  • A photo stop is made at the High Falls of the Cheat River. 18 feet tall and 150 feet across this beautiful location is 5 miles from the closest road. After High Falls your train follows the tumbling Cheat through another 21 miles of scenic wilderness. This is unspoiled and uninhabited forest, with gorgeous tree topped mountain vistas, where hardwoods and evergreens grow to the edge of boulder strewn white water rivers. This one-way train ride ends at remote Cheat Bridge where your bus is waiting to transport you to the eastern side of Cheat Mountain and the town of Durbin.
  • Enjoy a Boxed Lunch during the Train Ride.
  • This afternoon the coal fired Durbin Rocket is bellowing smoke and anxious to start another exciting mountain rail expedition. Built in 1910 this steam locomotive pulls an authentic 1920s-era coach car and vintage wooden cabooses along the free-flowing Greenbrier River. This 10 -1/2 mile scenic ride runs through the Monongahela National Forest.
  • Dinner this evening is at Smoke on the Water located along a scenic trout stream just outside of town It's a remote rustic setting with a menu based on traditional barbecue. (Meals: B, L, D)
 
Day 5 - Cass Scenic Railroad, Whittaker Station, & Mountain Memories Show Band
  • Today you ride the Cass Scenic Railroad, the same line built in 1901 to haul lumber to the mill in Cass. Once you board the train, the real excitement begins when the great pistons of the carefully resorted Shay Locomotive start pulsing, driven by hundreds of pounds of steam pressure.
  • As the train rounds the curve up Leatherbark Creek, you'll pass the Cass Shop, where the locomotives are serviced. You travel up the mountain toward the two switchbacks, with allow the train to reverse the steep grade. Finally the view opens to fields and Whittaker Station.
  • Enjoy your packed lunch on the train as you journey up the mountain.
  • Leaving Cass you cross into the next valley and find it filled with giant satellite dishes. This is the Green Bank Radio Astronomy Observatory intentionally located in one of America’s most quiet spots. Here our scientists are listening for sounds from space, and you will tour the facility.
  • Tonight, after a wonderful plated dinner, sit back and listen to the fabulous Mountain Memories Show Band as they serve up a 2 hour Branson-style show with music from the 50's - today featuring Country, Pop, Motown, Gospel, and Patriotic along with family-friendly comedy and amazing dancers.
  • The Gandy Dancer offers a show that's guaranteed to have you dancing in your seat, laughing until you cry, touch your heart and give you memories that will last a lifetime. (Meals: B, L, D)
   
Day 6 - Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater
  • Prior to checking out, enjoy breakfast included at the hotel.
  • Enjoy lunch included today.
  • Visit Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater.  Fallingwater is a house designed in 1935 by renowned American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The house was designed as a private residence and weekend home for the family of Pittsburgh department store owner, Edgar J. Kaufmann, Sr. Fallingwater is one of Wright’s most widely acclaimed works and best exemplifies his philosophy of organic architecture: the harmonious union of art and nature.
  • Continue to Carlisle, PA. Enjoy dinner included this evening then check-in to your hotel. (Meals: B, L, D)
   
Day 7 - Breakfast & Depart
