Levuka
Destinations
There’s no denying Levuka’s visual appeal. It’s one of the few places in the South Pacific that has retained its colonial buildings (though many were damaged by Cyclone Winston in 2016): along the main street, timber shop-fronts straight out of a Hollywood western are sandwiched between blue sea and fertile green mountains. The effect is quite beguiling – you can almost taste the wild frontier days of this former whaling outpost.
