Sample Itinerary ~
Day 1 - Saturday, January 18, 2025- Arrive in the Nation’s Capital where you’ll meet up with your full-time licensed DC Tour Guide who will expertly attend to managing the D.C. logistics of your tour and offer in-depth commentary on all things Washington, DC, as well as fascinating Inaugural history. Begin with a visit to Capitol Hill where you’ll climb the famous “Hill” for a tour of the most recognizable symbol of democracy: the Capitol Building*, the seat of the US Government. Tour the Capitol Visitors Center*, the Library of Congress, and see the Supreme Court. This evening, be delighted as you stroll through the John F. Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts where you’ll see the larger-than-life bronze bust of John F. Kennedy, view the breathtaking landscape of the Nation’s City from the rooftop terrace, and experience the new JFK Exhibit. Afterwards, enjoy a Welcome Dinner included at a local favorite restaurant before checking-in to your MARS-Partner property to rest and relax for the evening at your leisure. (Meals: D)
- Enjoy breakfast at your hotel this morning. Depart with your Guide for a day of adventure! Visit Arlington National Cemetery to see the Kennedy gravesite and other presidents interred within America’s most sacred square mile. Embark with your Guide on a District City Tour to include visits to see iconic locations such as the Presidential Memorials for: Lincoln, Jefferson, FDR, and Eisenhower, stop by the Vietnam War Veterans & Korean War Veterans Memorials, as well as the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. Conclude your City Tour exploring the National Archives. This evening, an elaborate Red, White, and Blue Dinner Event & Patriotic Entertainment awaits, complete with a cash bar, and special guests such as: Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Uncle Sam, himself! - Rise and shine very early and snatch a ‘Grab & Go’ breakfast on your way into the city this morning. Today, your group will witness the Inauguration of the 47th President in Washington, DC, followed by the annual Inaugural Parade! This exciting, historic event will be accompanied by various festivities throughout the day. In between events, you’ll have time to pop in and visit some of the Smithsonian Museums on the National Mall. Return to your hotel to freshen up for an included dinner this evening near your hotel. The evening is free to rest, relax, or explore on your own. (Meals: B, D)
- Enjoy an included breakfast at the hotel this morning prior to checking out. Continue your touring with a visit to the National Archives, home to the original Declaration of Independence, followed by a tour of historic Ford’s Theatre and the Peterson House. Afterwards, you’ll explore either the Lincoln Cottage or Woodrow Wilson House. This afternoon, discover something amazing at the White House Visitor Center where you’ll get a peak at life in the White House and the historical records of presidents past. Enjoy lunch on own while strolling along The Wharf, a new waterfront boardwalk exploding with a variety of exciting restaurants, food halls, and shopping.
