Day 1 - A Taste of the 18th Century & Monticello
  • Kick off your journey with a delicious Southern-style lunch at a historic tavern, where you’ll experience the flavors of the 18th century with colonial attired waitstaff.
  • Next, step into history at Monticello, the iconic mountaintop home of Thomas Jefferson, where classical architecture meets groundbreaking innovation.
  • After checking into your hotel, enjoy a hearty Welcome Dinner at a popular restaurant before settling in for a restful night at your charming local accommodations. (D)
 
Day 2 - Jefferson’s Vision & Virginia Wine Country
  • This morning, enjoy breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a Guided Tour of the University of Virginia, exploring the famed Rotunda, Academical Village, designed by Thomas Jefferson, and the Memorial to Enslaved Laborers.
  • Then, indulge with a delightful lunch and Wine Tasting at a picture perfect vineyard with views your Instagram will love.
  • Next, enjoy a second tasting at a nearby winery, where Virginia viticulture shines.

Day 3 - Meet Mr. Monroe & Vineyard Views
  • Enjoy breakfast and a leisurely morning before visiting James Monroe’s Highland, where you’ll explore the historic estate & even meet Mr. Monroe himself!
  • Lunch is on your own at the lively Dairy Market, featuring an array of local vendors.
  • The afternoon takes you to a special local vineyard and brewery for a Guided Tasting with breathtaking mountain views.
  • Cap off the day with a delicious Southern-inspired Farewell Dinner and a craft beer before returning to your hotel to rest and relax for the evening. (B, D)
 
Day 4 - Madison’s Legacy & Farewell Toast
  • Your final day begins with a hearty breakfast at the hotel and checking out.
  • Visit to James Madison’s Montpelier, where you’ll explore the home and legacy of the Father of the Constitution.
  • A boxed lunch keeps you fueled for one last stop at one of our favorite vineyards; a family-run winery with a rich equestrian past. Savor a final Wine Tasting before departing with wonderful memories and photos of Charlottesville’s history and hospitality. (B, L)
