Sample Itinerary: Day 1 - Arrive to Rhode Island & Colonial Tour of Newport
- Arrive for a Colonial Tour of Newport, the most historically intact city in America. Walk through the neighborhoods of what was once one of the richest, most successful colonies
- Enjoy lunch on own prior to a self-guided audio tour of The Breakers. These unique audio tours discuss the art and architecture as well as the social history of the families that lived there and servants who worked there.
- This evening, enjoy a Buffet Style dinner included at local restaurant. (Meals: D)
- Enjoy breakfast included prior to checking out and experiencing a cranberry bog at Stone Bridge Farm. See the antique cranberry equipment & walk down to the bogs where one bog will be flooded with cranberries floating for you to see.
- Visit Plimoth Patuxet Museums and enjoy included themed lunch.
- Depart & come aboard the Mayflower II, an extraordinary experience. The details of the ship, from the solid oak timbers and tarred hemp rigging to the wood and horn lanterns and hand-colored maps, have all been carefully recreated to give you a sense of what the original 17th-century vessel was like.
- Walk to Plymouth Rock, this famous rock marks the spot where the Pilgrims first set foot in the New World.
- Check-in to your beachfront hotel. An ideal Cape Cod oceanfront resort with exceptional service and an expansive stretch of private beach.

- Arrive to the Hy-Line Docks, for ticketing and boarding of the high-speed ferry to the island of Martha’s Vineyard.
- Upon arrival, your guide will direct you to where you will board a local bus for a Sightseeing Tour. You will learn about the history and lifestyles of the islanders as you pass through Vineyard Haven.
- Enjoy free time for lunch and shopping in the historic whaling town of Edgartown.
- Complete your day on the island with free time to explore in Oak Bluffs. You may choose to stroll through “Cottage City” with its brightly painted cottages and decorative “gingerbread” trim.
- Return to your hotel to freshen up prior to dinner included back on the mainland at local favorite restaurant. (Meals: B, D)
- Enjoy breakfast included at the hotel prior to meeting your Step-On GUIDE and depart on exciting day of adventures!
- Stop by the village beside the Chatham Lighthouse near the elbow of the Cape’s silhouette. From here you travel along the Cape Cod National Seashore, where spectacular views off the cliffs, overlook the Atlantic Ocean. You’ll see the horizon as Thoreau saw it when he wrote “There was nothing but that savage ocean between us and Europe.” This great Outer Beach is now a protected national seashore with 40 miles of pristine beach, marshes, ponds, and uplands support a diversity of species with lighthouses and wild cranberry bogs lining the way.
- Depart & roll through the Peaked Hill Bars Historic District Sand Dunes, catching sight of Pilgrim Lake nestled among the dunes and the famed artists’ dune shacks.
- Explore in large four-wheel drive Suburban’s, with sand dunes stretching as far as you can see. It’s a place where beach grass, dark green pine trees and deep red beach plums are nestled in hollows which are brought together by a silhouette of blue sky. As you travel your guide will points out the “dune shacks” where famous artists and writers like Eugene O’Neill and Harry Kemp became inspired to create their work
- Enjoy lunch on own in Provincetown, at the tip of the Cape, a waterfront community filled with eclectic shops and boutiques.
- Board your cruise at Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises. Enjoy as a naturalist narrates and describes the whales you may see, their behavior, and some of the other marine life common to the area. It has been said that “To have a huge, friendly whale willingly approach your boat and look you straight in the eye is without doubt one of the most extraordinary experiences on the planet.”
- Dinner is included at a traditional seafood restaurant serving Cape Cod lobster. (Meals: B, D)

- Take a brief tour of Hyannis Port, home of the Kennedy clan and take a group photo at the Kennedy Memorial and Korean War Memorial overlooking Veteran’s Beach.
- Board the High-speed ferry for a cruise to Nantucket. Explore the cobblestone streets, quaint boutiques, pristine beaches, whaling museum, and year round festivals and attractions, Nantucket continues to be a favorite destination of people around the world
- Lunch on own today while in Nantucket.
- Take ferry back to Hyannis Port & enjoy a Farewell Dinner included with an entertaining storyteller who will share stories of Cape Cod! (Meals: B, D)
- Enjoy breakfast included at hotel prior to checking out.
- Explore Cape Cod’s oldest town, Sandwich, the village with views of Shawmer Pond, historic Dexter Grist Mill. Take a sip out of the ‘fountain of youth’!
- Visit the Sandwich Glass Museum. Watch molten glass, drawn from the furnace, blown and pressed into exquisite shapes. Learn why the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company led the world in the manufacture of glass during the early 19th century. The glassblower selects someone from each audience to press an actual piece of glass. The 20-minute demonstration takes place every hour on the hour with plenty of time for questions afterward.
