A Gaylord Christmas 2024 - December 1-4, 2024

  Day 1 - Sunday, December 1, 2024 – Poinsettias, Spectacular Decorations, & Indoor Snowfall at The Gaylord National Harbor
  • Arrive in Washington, D.C. and immediately be enveloped in the festive holiday spirit with a visit to the stunning Poinsettia Show at the National Botanic Garden.
  • Check-in to the Gaylord Resort at the National Harbor for Christmas on the Potomac.
    • Enjoy a complimentary cocktail voucher (complete with a side of Holiday Cheer) to be used at your leisure anytime during your stay.
    • Take a ride on the iconic Capital Wheel National Harbor, offering breathtaking views of the District glowing with holiday lights and the festive National Harbor Christmas Tree.
    • Enjoy nightly Indoor Snowfall and a Sights and Sounds of the Season Show presented by the Gaylord.
  • The evening is free to enjoy dinner on your own, the spectacular decorations around the harbor, the Light shows in the Gaylord Atrium, and more!
Day 2 – Monday, December 2, 2024 – ICE!, Christmas Markets, and the Pathway to Peace
  • Enjoy breakfast at the resort each morning via voucher at the Gaylord Resort's Potomac District Cafe & Diner plus free time to visit ICE! at the Gaylord, a spectacular, cartoon-themed wonderland carved from over two million pounds of ice.
  • Lunch is on your own at the National Harbor where you can get some shopping in, explore the boardwalk, and maybe enjoy your included ride on The Wheel.
  • Meet your Guide for a City Tour of Washington, DC. Drive Embassy Row. After the Civil War, the powerful and socially elite built large mansions along Massachusetts Ave. After the Great Depression, many of the families who built these homes went broke. Today, the area is known as Embassy Row. Embassies, associations, foundations, and clubs have claimed and restored these lovely homes.
  • Discover Christmas at Hillwood Estate, Museum, and Gardens. The mansion of former cereal heiress, Marjorie Merriweather Post, features one of the most comprehensive collections of 18th and 19th century imperial art.
  • A delightful dinner is included at a waterfront D.C. restaurant.
  • After dinner, depart on an Illuminated Monument Tour with a special Pathway to Peace experience and the National Christmas Tree, all showcasing the Nation’s Capital in it’s festive nighttime splendor.
Day 3 – Tuesday – December 3, 2024 – Mount Vernon, Old Town Alexandria, & the DC Downtown Holiday Market
  • Enjoy an included breakfast before traveling to George Washington’s Mount Vernon for a Mount Vernon Christmas! Tour the mansion decorated for the holidays to hear stories of Christmases past and other 18th-century demonstrations with costumed characters across the estate, overlooking the Potomac River.
  • Enjoy lunch on your own and free time to stroll the cobblestone streets and shop the unique boutiques in Colonial Alexandria decorated beautifully for the holiday season.
  • This afternoon, experience the Downtown Holiday Market, a festive shopping “village” in the heart of DC, featuring over 150 regional artisans, crafters, and boutique businesses bustling with energy, music, and special treats.
  • Visit Woodrow Wilson House, elegantly adorned for the holidays.
  • Explore the 38th Annual Winter Festival at Watkins Park, decorated with 3 miles and 2.5 million miles of whimsical lights, the festival is a staple in local holiday traditions and is the biggest of its kind in the Washington, DC Metro area. Drive through three miles of whimsical lights and celebrate the magic of the season from the comfort of your vehicle. This year’s spectacular drive-through event features dazzling displays with more than 2.5 million LED lights throughout the park and a giant, 54-foot LED musical tree.
  • The rest of the evening is free for you to enjoy dinner on your own and explore the holiday festivities including live entertainment at the National Harbor or the luxe amenities at the Gaylord.
Day 4 – Wednesday, December 4, 2024 – Departure
  • Prior to checking out, enjoy breakfast at the Gaylord Resort.
  • This morning, visit your choice of:
    • The Basilica of the National Shrine of Immaculate Conception where you will see the largest Roman Catholic Church in the United States and in North America. It is one of the ten largest churches in the world.
    • The Washington National Cathedral, the sixth-largest cathedral in the world, an architectural masterpiece, a national house of prayer for all people, and a gathering place for the nation in times of sorrow and in times of celebration.
  • Lunch is on your own at the The Wharf for last minute shopping in the Nation's City.
  • Depart for home with memories of your magical holiday adventure!
