Day 2 - CHRISTMAS AT HILLWOOD ESTATE & ENCHANT!

  • Discover Christmas at Hillwood Estate, Museum, and Gardens. The mansion of former cereal heiress, Marjorie Merriweather Post, features one of the most comprehensive collections of 18th and 19th century Russian imperial art outside of Russia.
  • There's even more holiday glitter at Enchant, The Great Search; the world’s largest Christmas light Maze & Market, located at the elaborately decorated Nationals Park and featuring a luminescent land of larger-than-life sculptures as snow gently falls around you.
  • Enjoy dinner on own while exploring the winter wonderland of Enchant.

Day 4 - STORIES OF CHRISTMAS PAST!
  • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel prior to checking out.
  • Travel to George Washington’s Mount Vernon for a Mount Vernon Christmas! Tour the mansion decorated for the holidays to hear stories of Christmases past and other 18th-century demonstrations.
  • Enjoy lunch on own, and have some free time in Old Town Alexandria, and explore the unique shops and boutiques, beautifully decorated for the season.
  • Visit the George Washington Masonic National Memorial, a memorial and museum, an active Masonic temple, a research library, a cultural place, a community and performing arts center, and an important regional landmark!
  • See Robert E. Lee’s Boyhood Home.
  • Stop at the Torpedo Factory Art Center. A naval munitions factory that was converted into an art center, home to the largest number of publicly accessible working artists studios in the U.S.

A Gaylord Christmas 2024 - December 10-13, 2024 - From $849

  Day 1 - Tuesday, December 10, 2024 – Spectacular Decorations & Light Show at The Gaylord National Harbor
  • Arrive in Washington, D.C. and meet your local tour guide.
  • Discover Christmas at Hillwood Estate, Museum, and Gardens. The mansion of former cereal heiress, Marjorie Merriweather Post, features one of the most comprehensive collections of 18th and 19th century imperial art.
  • Drive Embassy Row. After the Civil War, the powerful and socially elite built large mansions along Massachusetts Ave. After the Great Depression, many of the families who built these homes went broke. Today, the area is known as Embassy Row. Embassies, associations, foundations, and clubs have claimed and restored these lovely homes.
  • Visit the Basilica of the National Shrine of Immaculate Conception where you will see the largest Roman Catholic Church in the United States and in North America. It is one of the ten largest churches in the world.
  • In the late afternoon, check-in to the Gaylord Resort at the National Harbor for Christmas on the Potomac.
